John Boyle was a nice young man who came from Idaho Falls, Idaho. He had only been in our platoon about 3 weeks when he was killed during a firefight. We had popped an ambush on a point element for a company sized unit of NVA. John showed extraordinary courage for a “New Guy” and his memory will never be forgotten by the men he served with.
